Federación de Amigos de los Mayores (Friends of the Elderly Federation) is a non lucrative organization, focused on helping the 2 million elderly people that live by themselves and without any help in Spain.
The International Day of the Elderly people is celebrated on October 1st. During this day, we had to aware the people in Spain about this problem. We needed to have a huge reach and impact on a subject that is hardly ever covered in media, and we had no budget to develop a traditional media plan.
Since we had no budget to develop a traditional media plan, we came up with an emotional campaign, which we thought that would move the people´s feelings, and therefore be heavily shared. Los Monólogos de la Soledad (The Solitude Monologues) are a series of stand-up like monologues in which the protagonist, an elderly woman, seems to be talking about her everyday issues to a big audience in a theater which is actually empty.
During the previous days, we managed an influencer campaign, asking them for their help by joining and sharing the campaign. We also started moving the different sketches in Youtube. For this matter, we used the hashtag #NoEstáisSolos (#YouAreNotAlone) so that everybody could join and share the same campaign. The results were amazing…
More than 100,000 views on YouTube.
More than 5 million impacts on Twitter and Youtube.
National Trending Topic during October 1st.
Non paid mentions of the campaign in the main national and regional television channels (T5, Antena 3, TVE and regional TV).
We received more than 400 images from celebrities of many different sectors.
